The “Saint Catherine Scholarship<\/strong>” project for parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas is open this year between\u00a0September 15 <\/strong>and\u00a0October 31, 2025. <\/strong>The beneficiaries will be announced after November 15, so that these young ladies are honored as closely as possible to November 25 when we celebrate the Holy Great Martyr Catherine.<\/p>\n This project consists in granting a\u00a0$ 300<\/strong> scholarship (one for each Deanery in the USA\/Canada, plus one for LAtin America), to young female students who are between 16-25 years old<\/strong>, are enrolled in college\/university (undergraduate studies), have been members of a parish in the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas for at least one year, and participate in ROYA or Sunday School. \u00a0This scholarship is a merit scholarship, the student’s financial situation not being a criterion for its award.<\/p>\n Please nominate the young female students\u00a0providing the following documents:<\/p>\n – Proof of college\/university enrollment<\/strong>: a copy of the student ID or an official letter from the school confirming the student is currently enrolled. \u00a0Important<\/u>: Acceptance letters received from a college\/ university prior to enrollment are not taken into account;<\/em><\/p>\n – Letter of recommendation from the Parish Priest<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>specifying the candidate’s age, how long has he known her, and whether she participates in the Holy Sacraments;<\/p>\n – Letter of recommendation from ROYA, Sunday School, or Ladies Auxiliary Association <\/strong>(optional,\u00a0but\u00a0appreciated), specifying if the nominated young woman is involved in the community life of the Church, volunteering for the events, helping out with Sunday School, etc.<\/em><\/p>\n *Your parish must have paid the 2025 AROLA membership ($150\/parish\/year in US, respectively $200\/parish\/year in Canada) in order to participate in this project.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\nPlease click on the link below and complete your nomination form.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
